What's going on in Salt Lake City and Beyond...

Weekly Event Update
November 6, 2012

EVENT SPOTLIGHT:

Noises Off
November 8-17, 2012
Westminster College - Salt Lake City

Noises Off

Slapstick. Sexual trysts. Sardines.
"Noises Off "is a play within a play. It is about an ambitious director and his troupe of mediocre actors. The cast and crew are putting together a silly sex comedy titled, "Nothing On" - a single-set farce in which lovers frolic, doors slam, clothes are tossed away and embarrassing hi-jinks ensue.
The three acts of "Noises Off" expose different phases of the disastrous show, "Nothing On":
• Act One: On stage during dress rehearsal.
• Act Two: Backstage during a matinee performance.
• Act Three: On stage during a delightfully ruined performance.

FEATURED EVENTS:

K'Naan
November 11, 2012
The State Room - Salt Lake City

K'Naan

With his new songs including the album's irresistible, empathetic first single, "Is There Anybody Out There?," featuring Nelly Furtado, the Somalian-born, Canadian-based singer and MC turns his attention to the most universal emotions and experiences of them all: the personal relationships which everyone struggles with and rejoices in.

Lucky Stiff
November 2-10, 2012
Val A. Browning Center for the Performing Arts - Ogden

Lucky Stiff

The play, director Christian says, is a madcap musical farce that combines key elements of murder, gambling, dogs, mistaken identities, eyeglasses, diamonds and a corpse being taken on a tour of Monte Carlo. It follows the story of hapless British shoe salesman, Harry Witherspoon, as he strives to qualify for his surprise inheritance by taking his late Uncle Anthony on a final fling to the French Riviera. Of course, Harry isn't the only one after the money and a cast of over 25 characters.
