After traveling millions of miles since it was launched eight months ago, NASA's Curiosity rover successfully landed on Mars early Monday morning.
The rover is scheduled to spend
the next 23 months on Mars to "investigate whether conditions have been
favorable for microbial life and for preserving clues in the rocks about
possible past life," according to a NASA fact sheet.
